The Roadside Assistance Request service allows drivers to receive immediate help in case of vehicle breakdowns or minor accidents on public roads.
Assistance includes towing, on-site mechanical support, fuel delivery, tire replacement, battery jump-start, and safe transport for passengers.
The service ensures driver safety and keeps traffic flowing efficiently in case of roadside incidents.
Target
- Drivers whose vehicles have broken down or are immobilized on public roads
- Vehicle owners involved in minor road accidents (no injuries)
- Citizens needing emergency vehicle towing or technical support
- Fleet operators or businesses managing company vehicles

Documents Needed
- Valid driver’s license
- Vehicle registration certificate
- National ID card or passport of the vehicle owner or driver
- Proof of compulsory vehicle insurance (RCA)
- Optional: Roadside assistance contract or membership card (if applicable)
Note: In emergencies, minimal data may be required to dispatch help quickly. Additional documents can be presented later for record verification.
Steps to Be Taken to Benefit from the Service
- Report the incident via the hotline, mobile app, or online form.
- Provide details about your location, vehicle, and problem type.
- Receive confirmation and estimated arrival time of the assistance team.
- Assistance arrives on site — mechanical support, towing, or vehicle recovery provided.
- Complete service report and sign acknowledgment after help is rendered.
- Payment or insurance verification performed if applicable.
Fees required
- Standard roadside assistance (urban areas): Free of charge for first incident per year
- Additional assistance requests: From 100 currency, depending on distance and service type
- Towing outside municipal limits: 4 currency per km
- Battery jump-start / tire change: Fixed 50 currency service fee
Services may be free for users with valid roadside assistance memberships or covered by insurance policies.

Mobile App:
Use the “SafeRoad” app to share GPS coordinates and photos for faster dispatch.
Online Form:
Submit your request at www.roadassist.gov.ro/request, including license plate and contact details.
