Purpose: Extend the validity of their vehicle registration certificate once it expires

The Vehicle Registration Renewal service allows vehicle owners to extend the validity of their vehicle registration certificate once it expires.

Renewal ensures the vehicle remains legally registered and authorized for public road use. The service also updates official records with any changes in ownership details, insurance, or technical inspection status.

  • Private vehicle owners whose registration is due to expire
  • Fleet managers or business representatives renewing company vehicles
  • Authorized persons acting on behalf of a registered owner (with power of attorney)

Documents Needed

For private vehicles

  • Valid national ID or passport of the vehicle owner
  • Existing vehicle registration certificate (original)
  • Valid insurance certificate (RCA)
  • Valid periodic technical inspection (ITP) certificate
  • Proof of tax payment for the current year
  • Application form (available online or at NDVR counters)

For company-owned vehicles

  • Company registration certificate (copy)
  • Power of attorney for the representative submitting the request
  • The same technical and insurance documents as above

Steps to Be Taken to Benefit from the Service

  1. Check eligibility: Ensure your vehicle’s technical inspection and insurance are valid.
  2. Prepare documents: Gather all required documents and proofs.
  3. Submit application: Apply online, by post, or in person at the NDVR office.
  4. Verification: The NDVR validates documents and checks vehicle compliance in the national database.
  5. Payment: Pay the renewal fee and any related taxes.
  6. Receive renewed registration: Collect your updated certificate and registration sticker.

Fees required

  • Renewal processing fee: 80 currency
  • Registration card reissue (if damaged/lost): 40 currency
  • Urgent processing (optional): +30 currency surcharge
  • Postal delivery (optional): 10 currency

Fee exemptions may apply for electric vehicles, persons with disabilities, or vehicles used for emergency purposes.

Method of Applying

Online:

Use the NDVR portal to complete the application, upload scans of the required documents, and pay by card. You will receive a confirmation email once processing begins.

In person:

Visit an NDVR counter or local vehicle registration office. Bring the original documents and make payment on site. A digital copy of the renewed certificate will be available afterward.

By post:

Mail the completed form, certified copies of documents, and proof of payment to your local NDVR office. Include a prepaid envelope if you prefer postal return.
