The Home Renovation Grant provides financial support to homeowners and tenants who wish to improve the safety, energy efficiency, and accessibility of their dwellings.

The program promotes sustainable housing, reduces energy consumption, and supports vulnerable households in maintaining adequate living conditions.

Eligible beneficiaries receive partial reimbursement or direct funding for approved renovation works, such as insulation, roof repair, plumbing upgrades, or accessibility modifications.

Documents Needed

  • Valid national ID card or passport of the applicant
  • Property ownership certificate or valid rental contract
  • Recent property tax receipt (for owned properties)
  • Technical evaluation report or building inspection certificate
  • Detailed renovation plan and cost estimate from a certified contractor
  • Proof of income for all adult household members
  • Bank account information for reimbursement purposes

All documents must be valid, legible, and submitted in PDF or original paper format.

Steps to Be Taken to Benefit from the Service

  1. Review eligibility criteria published on the NHEEA website.
  2. Prepare necessary documents and obtain a certified cost estimate for renovation.
  3. Fill out the Home Renovation Grant Application Form (available online or at NHEEA offices).
  4. Submit your application online, by post, or in person before the annual deadline.
  5. Technical and financial assessment conducted by the NHEEA review committee.
  6. Receive official approval and funding agreement.
  7. Carry out renovation works using certified contractors.
  8. Submit completion report and invoices for final reimbursement or verification visit.

Fees required

  • Application processing: Free of charge
  • Technical inspection (if required): 100 currency (deductible from the grant amount)
  • No additional administrative fees or commissions apply

Online:

  • Apply via the official portal www.nheea.gov.org/renovation-grant
  • Create an account, complete the digital application form, and upload all required documents
  • Receive an automatic confirmation email after submission

By phone:

  • Visit your nearest NHEEA regional office or local city hall counter
  • Submit printed documents and sign the application form on-site
  • You will receive a tracking number for follow-up

In person:

  • Send your completed application and certified document copies to your regional NHEEA office
  • Include a return envelope for correspondence

  • Application review: 20–30 working days after submission
  • Grant approval notification: Within 45 days
  • Funds disbursement: Within 10 days after signing the funding agreement
  • Final reimbursement verification: Within 15 days after work completion
